Tidecaster Game Description
Tidecaster is a realistic fishing simulator in 16-bit pixel art. Fish the Mediterranean from the beach or from a boat, or head to lakes, rivers and faraway seas. Your mission: find, hook and land 135 real species, from gilthead seabream and seabass to amberjack, swordfish and bluefin tuna.
Every fish has its own season, depth, sea floor and favourite bait. Wind, sea state, water temperature, weather, moon phases and time of day change what bites. Pick your technique: surfcasting, spinning, float fishing, bolentino, jigging, trolling and more. Build your tackle box with real rods, reels, lines, hooks, baits and lures.
Fights feel real: manage line tension and drag, give line when the fish runs, stop reeling when it jumps, and keep groupers from reaching their dens. Respect legal sizes and protected species, fill your journal and complete bounties.
How to play Tidecaster?
Hold anywhere (mouse, touch or Space) to charge, then release to cast.
Wait for a bite. When the "!" appears, tap quickly to set the hook.
Hold to reel in. No need to spin your finger.
Watch the tension bar: if it turns red or the fish jumps, let go.
Use the − and + buttons to set drag, float depth or sinker weight (keyboard: A/D and arrow keys).
Check the Journal to learn each fish's season, depth and favourite bait.
Keep legal-size fish or release them for bonus XP.
