Red Ink Game Description

You are Nino Bellandi, bookkeeper to the Corvaro family: bad stomach, good memory, never wrong by a coin. You keep two sets of books. The black one the Don reads. The red one is true, and you are the only man alive who knows it. At every turn that matters both ledgers slam open over the scene, you choose the entry, and your pen writes it stroke by stroke while the tally in the corner moves.

Three short books, one read per sitting, about a quarter of an hour. Forty thousand has gone missing, a prosecutor who can add has started reading your filings, the Don's daughter wants the company before the birthday cake, and a warehouse that was never wired burns down for electrical reasons. Three doors at the end, each with its own closing balance and its own final picture. What you wrote decides which ones are open, and there is something about those books that you do not know yet.

A noir comic in black ink on cream paper with one spot colour, red, scored with walking bass, brushes and a muted horn. Dry, numeric and funny until it isn't. Runs on desktop and mobile, in landscape and portrait.

How to play Red Ink?

Phone: tap to turn the page, tap a line in the ledger to choose.
Desktop: click or press Space to advance, click a line or press 1, 2, 3 to choose.
Goal: get through one week of books alive, and choose which door you leave by.
Tip: BLACK is how much the family trusts you, RED is how much proof you hold, HEAT is how closely the prosecutor is watching. Each ending needs a different balance.
