Save the Doge has you performing an essential duty of protecting a precious species from the world's dangers. You are an omniscient being who has gained the power to alter reality by drawing lines that can become physical objects. Despite the range of this power, you have been assigned to be the guardian for different species of doge. These cute round creatures aren't the toughest, and you must use your lines to protect them. The doge gets into all sorts of situations and doesn't always have the means to escape them. Use your lines to protect them until they can get away.
About Save the Doge
Whenever a game asks you to save animals, it makes sense that you would do anything in your power. In this game, the animals are the internet dogs called doge, and you must protect them with your lines. The challenge comes from the fact that the doge is not very mobile and will be susceptible to many different kinds of dangers. This is why you must use the lines creatively but conservatively to protect the doge and get the high score. Sometimes you'll have more than one to protect, and the dangers can be very aggressive, so plan your lines accordingly.
How to Play
Save the Doge is a 2D puzzle game about protecting animals with different kinds of lines by using the mouse. Hold the Left Mouse Button to draw a line and move the cursor over space. Once you let go of the button, the line will be finished, and the dangers will make their move. The goal is to draw a line that protects the doge long enough for the threat to pass. If any doge gets hurt in any way, you'll have to retry the level.
The main menu lets you visit the shop where you can buy new backgrounds and line colors using the coins you've earned. When you're ready, you can go to the level select and pick any level you've unlocked via progress. Every level will have one or multiple doge positioned in certain places. There will be dangers like bees, pitfalls, and others that will harm the doge on contact. You must draw a line that creates a barrier to protect the doge from the dangers until the timer runs out. The longer you make your line, the fewer stars you'll earn, as indicated by the bar at the top of the screen. If all the doge survive until the end of the timer, you'll beat the level and can move on to the next one.
Tips and Tricks
The puzzle in each level comes from trying to draw a short enough, stable, and effective line. The line can encase the doge or create a dome of varying size and shape to keep the dangers out. Just note that the line creations can still be moved around by other elements, pushing the doge into a different threat.
