Limited Defense is a reminder of the early Flash games that helped make online gaming popular and produced multiple genres and series. This is a strategic affair where you've been tasked with defending the tower. You'll have access to units and resources, but money is not as accessible as needed. You must work with the bit of gold you have to strategically place the soldiers you can afford in different spots around the path to the tower. Eliminate all the threats that approach, collect their loot, and use it to strengthen your defenses and keep the tower safe, if only for a little longer.
About Limited Defense
Strategy games can take various forms, with some being much more serious than others and constantly raising the stakes. In this game, you have a colorful and stylized fantasy world that you must protect with those willing to help you. Since it's not for free, you must think carefully about where you'll put your money, whether hiring more soldiers or aiding the ones still in the field. The enemies are relentless, and as their numbers and variety increase, you must also be adaptable to change your forces to handle the new threats better. Your forces may be planted, but you must use them wisely.
How to Play
Limited Defense is a 2D tower-defense game about hiring different units to defend your tower using the mouse. To interact with the gameplay UI, move the cursor to the appropriate icons and click the Left Mouse Button. Your active units will automatically act and attack when enemies get in range. The goal is to survive all of the enemy waves. The gold and wave counters will be on the right, and the tower's health will be at the top. If the tower's health reaches zero, you lose.
The main menu lets you choose from the available arenas you've unlocked via progress, each with differing waves to survive. After you pick one, you'll be shown a map of the route to the tower and all the available positions. The enemies will emerge from a portal at the far end and travel along the path. All your available units and their prices will be shown at the bottom, with more becoming available over time. When you buy a unit, you can place it on any open square. The grey circle around it will indicate the unit's attack range, and clicking on the unit will give you the option to sell or upgrade it. Enemy health bars will appear over the heads of the enemies, and if any of them reach the castle, they'll do damage. Every enemy eliminated will give you gold, and you can choose a reward every few waves. Keep defending until you survive all the waves.
Tips and Tricks
As the title implies, you have a limited number of options when it comes to defense, so you must use them efficiently. Ranged units have more excellent coverage at the cost of power, while melee units are the strongest yet most restricted. Look for choke points in the path where you can place the most excellent combination of units to deal the most damage at once.
