BMX Kid
BMX Kid lets you return to the early days of learning to ride a bike and test those skills. You're a kid who has recently learned to ride a bike and have gotten the hang of it to the point that you want to compete. Instead of usual races, you'll be trying to finish various obstacle courses where you must bike hard to make it through while also avoiding all of the pitfalls of the course. You can bike with balance or try to perform tricks for points and to look cool. At the end of the day, as long as you can make it to the end safely, you'll earn praise and continue with the contest.
About BMX Kid
Some of the earliest games have characters that ride bikes to get around or do their jobs, and it can still make for a dangerous lifestyle. In this game, you're approaching that danger and willing to take the risk to prove that you can bike skillfully. You're still just a kid so they won't throw you in the deep end, but you can show your stuff by getting smoothly through the course. The fewer moments you slow down or stumble, the more impressive you'll appear. You still can't afford to fall, but if that does happen, you'll have plenty of chances to get back up and try again.
How to Play
BMX Kid is a 2D arcade game about a kid riding a bike through different courses using the keyboard.
Controls
- Left Arrow - Tilt Left
- D/Right Arrow - Tilt Right/Accelerate
- W/Up Arrow - Jump
- A - Buy Life
- S - Buy Checkpoint
The goal is to reach the end of the course as fast as possible. Your stars and other details will be displayed at the top of the screen. You'll have a limited number of lives; if you lose all of them, you must retry the level.
The main menu allows you to buy new bikes, characters, and power-ups using your collected stars. You can also choose between the level-based Arcade mode or the endless endurance Survival mode. After you pick what you need, select the mode and any available levels. Each one will start you off on the left side of the course, and you must bike your way to the right. As you do, you can jump off ramps and off railings to perform tricks and earn points. You must avoid obstacles like cars and hydrants, or you'll fall. Trophies and stars can also be collected to improve your level of performance. Reach the finish line to complete the level and collect your rewards.
Tips and Tricks
This is similar to an auto-run game since when you start pedaling, you'll maintain a constant speed that you can increase. Most important is avoiding obstacles, which can be challenging to spot in the air or over a tall hill. Be prepared to react to anything that stands out from the rest of the track, and keep your balance.
